With the much needed rain last weekend, only one of the four scheduled games was completed.
On Saturday Wicket Wasps played in eDumbe in a Kingsmead Mynahs league match. Batting first, Wicket Wasps scored 162 all out within their allotted 30 overs. Tiaan Naudè top scored with 64 runs and Michael Beghin chipped in with 20 runs. Zane Holliday (3-0-23-3) and Brendon Brockman (5-0-21-2) were the stand out bowlers for Dumbe.
The Wickets Wasps managed to defend their score and bowled Dumbe out for 108 runs thanks to good bowling from Nikolaas Booysen (4-0-15-3) and Tiaan Naudè (6-0-34-3). Top run scorers for Dumbe were Juan Freyer (26) and Leon Solms (17). Wicket Wasps won by 54 runs.
This coming weekend’s fixtures are as follows:
Saturday: Kingsmead Mynah’s Trophy – Mr X vs Gladiators (Cecil Emmett 1:30pm)
Sunday: Kennedy Cup – Dumbe vs Wicket Wasps (eDumbe 9:30am) and Mr X vs Scorpions (Cecil Emmett 9:30am).
