Klipbank team wins Midlands Fund-raiser

The Midlands Fund-raiser held in Estcourt on Sunday was really well supported by all the clubs

We say good luck and good bowling to all the Provincial bowlers, who will take off to their various venues over the weekend.

Magriet Coetzee will be with the Senior Team, who will be playing in George (lucky bowlers to go to such a lovely venue), and Barbara Baleri and Ida Oosthuizen will be with the Open Team playing in Durban. We wish you safe travelling and that you enjoy your championships.

The Midlands Fund-raiser held in Estcourt on Sunday was really well supported by all the clubs, with the exception of those who apparently “don’t travel”. They were the losers on a super day of good bowls with lots of fun and spirit.

The winning team was Klipbank’s Barbara Baleri, Eric Robinson, Oscar Baleri and Eros Jannon, with Phil Rooke’s team in second, and close on their heels the other Bergville team skipped by Peter Scott. Willie Steenkamp’s Harrismith team came in at fourth place.

Thanks go to Estcourt for hosting this event, with good food, drinks and greens. The funds will be used to assist Midlands teams when they attend the Quadrangular Tournament.

Saturday afternoon tabs-in will be sponsored by Pradeep Singh, and you will enjoy the afternoon with all the usual fun and games. Do support our club committee members’ sponsorship.

We wish Lorraine Kirsten a speedy recovery from her scary trip last week, and trust everything will go well now that she has the means to get better.
