Soccer dream comes true

Simingaye is proud of himself and is looking forward to playing his second official match during the March school holidays against international teams in Johannesburg

After Simingaye Qumbisa took part in soccer trials three times during the months of January and February – in Ulundi twice and once in Johannesburg, he was recently accepted at the Jomo Cosmos Academy in Johannesburg.

“The black prince of South African soccer” Ephraim Matsilela Sono also known as Jomo Sono (burning spear) was impressed by Wembezi’s Simingaye Qumbisa and he was selected to represent the UThukela district. The Jomo Cosmos soccer club/academy is owned and coached by South African soccer legend, Jomo Sono himself.

Simingaye’s mother, Mrs Qumbisa would like to thank the Qumbisa family for all their support, she continued to thank her son for being keen on displaying his talent in the sport and lastly she thanked Jomo Sono for recognising and nurturing raw talent on the soccer field.

Simingaye’s former soccer coaches, Fabien Meyers, Hayden Smith, Spha and Vuyani Mbatha were thanked for grooming his soccer skills on the field.

Simingaye is proud of himself and is looking forward to playing his second official match during the March school holidays against international teams in Johannesburg as a student of Jomo Sono Academy and a representative of the UThukela district. The community of Estcourt bids farewell to Simingaye and wishes him all the best in his future endeavours.
