Nathan Stride proved to be prolific at the crease, hitting an unbeaten 49 for Mr X, bringing them back from the brink of defeat.

ONE match was played last weekend between Gladiators and Mr X in a Kennedy Cup match at Cecil Emmett Park on Sunday.

Batting first, the Gladiators were bowled out within the allotted 40 overs for 175 runs. A good 41 from Dean Aitken and 37 from Adriaan Kruger, who were the top run scorers for Gladiators.

Good bowling from Mr X saw the fall of eight wickets for 73 runs to finish the Gladiators innings, thanks to Matthew Stride (8-0-30-3) and Clifford Dougherty (5-1-29-2).

In batting, Mr X were at one stage 101/7 and in trouble. But good resistance from the Nathan Stride (49 not out) and Devin Aspden (38 not out) partnership saw Mr X over the line in the 29th over.

Top wicket takers for Gladiators were Zia Rehman (5-0-30-3) and Shazad (5-0-11-1). Mr X won by three wickets.
