Swimmers prove their aquatic skills
The two teenagers recently participated in a three-day gala held in Cape Town, where they competed against some of the best swimmers in South Africa.
Sheryl-Anne Grobler and Abigail Peters have obtained their South African colours for swimming.
The two teenagers recently participated in a three-day gala held in Cape Town, where they competed against some of the best swimmers in South Africa.
“I am very happy about getting colours, as it is recognition for what we did,” Sheryl-Anne said.
Abigail said one of the highlights for her, was competing against some older swimmers. “I was the only 14-year-old in the 5km event.”
The proud girls have now set their sights on higher targets.
“I would like to swim the English Channel,” Sheryl-Anne declared.
Abigail also wants to take the plunge into the daunting English Channel. “I would also like to do the open waters at the Olympic,” she said.
