VRYHEID Rugby Club players journeyed to Hluhluwe over the weekend where they played a night game against the Hluhluwe team at their home ground.
According to Head Coach, Rich Verster, it was a challenging battle against a very motivated side, but in the end, Vryheid came out on top, beating their hosts 5-0 with Jonathan Rabè scoring the only try of the match.
Verster added that he was proud of his squad, who played very well, adapting well to the long distance travel and surprising many people in all facets of the game.
“It was a very good test for our second side because we didn’t know what to expect.” said Verster of the encounter with the Hluhluwe team.
