Des Wheeler memorial played in fine conditions

Last Saturday a Four Ball Alliance competition was played in memory of Des Wheeler and kindly sponsored by Hawk Sportswear. The Wheeler family and guests from out of town were welcomed. Winners with a score of 106 points were Messrs F Ashe, D McFie, R Wattrus and M van Niekerk.

105 points placed Messrs R Magan, S Mtetwa, G Chotu and D Ramdhav in second place. A 104 three way count out placed Messrs A Lalparsad, H Koovarjee, D Wortmann and P Wagenaar in third position. Closest to the pin on number three was Bunn Hamman, on number seven C Elworthy and on number 16 Wilfie Laatz.

The longest drive on number 18 was won by Robbie Wattrus. A big thank you must go to Hawk Sportswear represented by Eijvind and Charline Vlok for their sponsorship and to all who travelled far to play in the competition. The Wednesday comp, a farewell to Robbie, was won by Deejay Ramdhav and Gordon Chotu with a score of 50 points.

The Friday nine hole ind stab comp was won by D Overstone with a score of 18. Today, March 25 and Saturday, March 28 will be BBBS formats unless changed closer to the time. Please diarise the Mug on Saturday, April 4. The Club Champs on April 11 and the Rotary Day on April 20.
