Advertiser and DMD find the pin

Through the auction of stunning wines, sturdy appliances, and a rare medallion cast from a Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship trophy, the golf day raised almost R30 000 for the local SPCA.

There are a few reasons the annual Advertiser and DMD Golf Day is always a success.

Perhaps it is due to the general sociable atmosphere of the day, or the good spirit in which players compete.

Maybe it is the great prizes on offer.

Or it could just be the worthy causes that receive financial support from one of the strongest teams in the Northern KwaZulu-Natal business sphere.

This year’s competition, on March 27, was an exceptional one.

Through the auction of stunning wines, sturdy appliances, and a rare medallion cast from a Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship trophy, the golf day raised almost R30 000 for the local SPCA.

Heather Gero was on hand to accept the sizeable donation.

Expressing her gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the day, Mrs Gero said: “The SPCA is truly grateful to be the recipient for this year.”

Through another sponsorship pledged earlier in the day, the SPCA reaped more than R40 000 in proceeds towards the safeguarding of animals in the area.

The Advertiser and DMD thank all competitors and contributors for ensuring the day ran smoothly.

Congratulations also to the winners of the competition (Johan Pieters, Christo van der Vyver, Elred Darvall and Niel Swanepoel) and the Advertiser team for hosting the best water table.
