A new year for Vryheid Squash Club
The new squash year has therefore started, which means that membership fees are now due. The lock will be changed on Monday, April 20. We are looking forward to a great year ahead.
The Vryheid Squash Club AGM was held on Wednesday, March 25.
Thank you to the large amount of members who attended. A big thank you has to go to the outgoing committee for a job well done in the past year.
Congratulations to the new committee: Chairperson – Kurt Spangenberg; Vice Chairperson – Donovan Hartslief; Secretary/Treasurer – Ingrid van Niekerk; Club Captain – Pierre van Niekerk and Additional Members – Jurgen Meyer; Jeandre Potgieter; Wessel van Deventer and Morne van Rooyen.

If you are missing the cricket world cup, don’t despair, you can still watch the Squash World Cup. The matches are still going for two more weeks, before the winner can be announced. Results from the fourth week are as follows: Tuesday, March 17: Bangladesh beat New Zealand 13-7; Pakistan vs Sri Lanka results not available. Wednesday, March 11: Australia beat England 10 – 7; West Indies beat India 13 – 5.
Next week is the final week and the fixtures are as follows: Tuesday, April 7: Bangladesh vs West Indies and India vs New Zealand. Wednesday, April 8: England vs Pakistan and Australia vs Sri Lanka. Due to some outstanding results the current standings could unfortunately not be updated.
