Annual tourney dates confirmed

Soccer fans should note that the Siyabonga Nkosi youth festival dates have been confirmed.

The festival honours Kaizer Chiefs’ mid-fielder, Siyabonga Nkosi, and is an annual event, often described as the biggest soccer event on the Newcastle calendar.

Nkosi was born in the small township of Mndonzo, situated on the outskirts of Newcastle.

Through this tournament a number of youth players have been selected and called up to play for the Kaizer Chiefs’ junior squads.

The full tournament itinerary is:

• June 6- Siyabonga Nkosi Youth Festival Opening concert (oSizweni Stadium)

• June 9-11 – Siyabonga Nkosi Youth Festival – Youth coaches workshop and coaching clinics, players workshop (Majuba TVET Stadium, Madadeni)

• June 10 – Siyabonga Nkosi Youth Festival – Citizens Sports Day (Majuba TVET Stadium, Madadeni)

• June 13-16 – Siyabonga Nkosi Youth Festival Football Tournament (Majuba TVET Stadium, Madadeni)

• June 16 – KZN Sasol XI vs Gauteng Sasol XI ; Ukhozi FM XI vs Celebrity XI ; Kaizer Chiefs Legends vs KZN Legends at the Majuba TVET Stadium.
