THE past weekend, a handful of our members participated in the Winter Bass Challenge hosted by Vryheid Luremasters Angling Club at Bivane Dam.

With 90 anglers and 45 boats, this was a hard competition. Day one of the competition changed Hannelie Coetzer’s view of excitement. She caught a 2.6kg bass, landing her in second place, overall. She caught this lovely fish off of her partner, Werner Prinsloo’s boat, ‘Ship Happens.’ Hannelie is known to her fellow club mates as a bass queen and “knows how to catch bass better than the men.” Well done, Hannelie. You deserve this one.

Please make note of the following: a special meeting is to be held on June 29. This is a big meeting and we ask all members to please attend. The Sodwana outing will be held from July 3 to July 5. All interested in going need to pay the deposit before June 3 at the club.

Thank you to all our members for attending the events and outings. The club is growing well and the sport of fishing will be continuing.
