Klipbank Bowling Club in Ladysmith played host to the highly anticipated and enjoyable annual inter zone bowling competition last weekend.
In the last round in the men’s section, the Northern zone was leading Midlands by one point, while in the ladies’ section, Midlands and Zululand were joint leaders on 14 points each.
The last round was thus of crucial importance to all teams to decide the eventual winners.
The Northern’s men managed to extend their lead to retain the men’s trophy, which they won last year while the Midlands ladies edged ahead of Zululand, to also retain their trophy.
Final scores: Men – Northerns (18 +12), Midlands (15 +two) Zululand (15 -14). Ladies – Midlands (20 + 13), Zululand (18 -36) Northerns (10 + 23). Overall – Midlands (35 +15), Zululand (33 -50), Northerns (28 + 35).
