Vryheid Rugby Club – Seconds miss out by a single point
Burger has coached Vryheid's second team through an impressive 2015 season so far, grooming his squad into a well polished, disciplined and dedicated team of players, willing to go the extra mile and working together towards a common goal.
VRYHEID’s second team visited Dundee on Saturday, July 4, going head to head with Dundee Sentraal on their home ground.
Devin Aspden and Francois Webb scored the only two tries for the Vryheid side, with two conversions and a penalty kick by Johannes Barnard bringing Vryheid’s seconds to 17 points on the scoreboard at the final whistle – only one point shy of the home team’s final score of 18. Man of the Match for the Forwards was Johannes Kruger and Johannes Barnard took Man of the Match for the Backs.
“Although we lost the game by one point, we walked off the field as winners.” said second team coach, Carel Burger. “We played a well disciplined game with remarkable skills and structure.”

Vryheid Rugby Club will host Piet Retief this weekend for the semi finals.
