Participating in the first leg of the South African Regional Championships, Johann de Jager, Cathleen de Jager, JP Bruin, Pieter Bester Junior, Koos van der Merwe and Dewald Botha made their way to Loskop Raceways.

Pushing their cars to the limits, the motorheads ensured they would not be forgotten.

JP clinched first place in the 1600s division, while Cathleen de Jager sped into second place. Johann de Jager secured fourth place overall in the fast paced racing event.

Ensuring Newcastle remained within the top rank during the event, Koos raced his way into third place in the 2-litre division, while Pieter took seventh place in 1660s.

Through their phenomenal racing, three trophies were brought home by the Newcastle team.

The second leg of the SA Regionals will be taking place in Volksrust on September 5.
