DURING THE school holidays, on Wednesday and Thursday, July 15/16, a two-day round robin tennis tournament was held at the Vryheid Lawn Tennis Club. There were 14 active players from various schools, who had to battle it out against each other and played a total of 126 games each over the two days!
It was a social event filled with high spirits and enthusiasm among players. The event was well supported by family,friends and teachers! After all the sweat and hard work on the courts our winners were announced as follows:
In 1st place was MarlieSmit from Lucas Meyer; in 2nd place was Jadon Kholmeyer from Woodhill Collage, Pretoria; and in 3rd place was Awande Mbuli from Michaelis. Congratulations you played fantastic games of tennis!
We hope to see more tennis players at future tournaments, and to improve this great game of tennis among the youth of our schools.
