Sentraal end season on perfect note

Sentraal beat Richards Bay to claim championship.

The T Shirts for Africa Sentraal Rugby Team, led by inspirational captain, centre Dolf Redelinghuis and red hot eight man Danie Vermaak, clinched the Brian Irvine trophy for the first time in the teams history.

They ran out winners, 47 points to 21 against Richards Bay.

“In a game like this, where every player give hundred and ten percent, it is sometimes unfair to single out players for their effort as for most of the season Sentraal success lies in a team effort,” said manager, Johann Coetzee.

For Sentraal, tries were scored by Man of the Match in the forwards, Danie Vermaak (2), Man of the Match in the backs, Dolf Redelinghuis (2) with centre Charles Dube, flanker Henk Booysen and Innocent Mbamayi, the other flanker, all scoring one a piece.

Fly half Pierre Booysen converted six of the tries.

Sentraal thanked T Shirts for Africa as their main sponsor and all the other sponsors, Qhubeka Processing, Flame Pro, Divine Water, Wiaan Construction, Henk and Elsa Booysen for organising the golf day.

A huge thanks also goes out too coaches Boy Hesom and Dolf Kruger for their hard work in taking the team to where it is and Malcolm and Celeste Rachman for all the organising at home games.

The boys in blue can now have a well-deserved rest but stay fit as the 2016 season is around the corner.
