Yearlings released in fine weather
Congratulations to Andre Strydom on winning the KZN Combined from Klerksdorp last week, competing against 1522 pigeons
On Saturday, the yearling pigeons were released from Bethal (214km) and Kroonstad (268km) in fine weather.
Tiekie Crouse clocked the winning Bethal pigeon 10 minutes before the second-placed pigeon.
This pigeon flew an average speed of 83km/h. Tiekie is starting to challenge for the club championship, taking 12 of the 30 positions.
From Kroonstad, two pigeons broke away from the pack.
Andre Strydom’s pigeon was four minutes clear of Paul Manuel, while his pigeon was three minutes clear of the rest.
The next 28 pigeons were clocked within four minutes. Andre’s pigeon flew at an average speed of 88km/h.
