Brace yourselves, quads are coming
Newcastle Oval Raceway will be hosting an adrenaline fuelled evening with a twist.
Racing enthusiasts are in for a treat, come August 29.
Newcastle Oval Raceway will be hosting an adrenaline fuelled evening with a twist.
Apart from racing divisions for women, go-carts, 1600s, 1660s, two litres and V8s, motorsport fans can also expect quad bikes tearing onto the track.
“This is great initiative brought by Suzuki Newcastle,” said Boet Buys, chairperson of the Oval Track’s committee.
Anthony Pieters from Suzuki explained 10 quad racers would be brought from the Vaal for the event. “This has never been done before in Newcastle, and it is going to be awesome.”
There will be three quad bike races, including a semi-final and final division race.
“We encourage the whole town to come watch and enjoy themselves,” Mr Pieters invited.
Excited about the upcoming event, Mr Buys said the once-off quad bike racing event would promote Oval Track.
“It will be great if we could do more events like this, as it is good for the sport itself and caters for everyone,” Mr Buys said.
Mr Buys thanked Suzuki for organising the races and thanked all Oval track sponsors and supporters for ensuring the monthly races continued.
“Without the support of the sponsors and fans, we would not be here,” he concluded.
