Vryheid Athletics Club – A weekend of beautiful races

Exercise is a great mood booster – any exercise that is good for your heart is also good for your brain – sweat it out to stay sharp and in shape.

THE Mpati Race in Dundee is certainly a race worth running.

Lorraine (well done on the 60 prize category); Amanda; Ronel Bean; Johan; Sobelo; Meshack and Daan all participated in this beautiful race this past weekend. Another race worth looking at is the Berman Bush Trail which was also a most enjoyable and scenic race where Cathy Sandalls walked in perfect and overcast Durban weather. Well done to VAC’s runners and walkers on your races this weekend gone.

On October 19, VAC is giving back to the community by hosting, with DSR, a 5km Big Walk from Pioneer High School’s sports field at 5:30pm. Proceeds will be going to the Sunflower Fund. A tuckshop, boerewors rolls, Sunflower bandanas and lots of fun will all be happening from 4:00pm, where you can enter for the Big Walk.

VAC’s year end function will take place on Friday, November 13 and the AGM on Thursday, November 26 – diarise those two important dates.

Time trials are held every Thursday at 5:30pm from the VAC club house at Pioneer High School with a bring and braai social after.
