Competitive volleyball action

The sweltering heat did not deter the teams' determination and spirit

Umtshezi Volleyball Association (UVA) hosted its biggest Open Tournament on Saturday with a record number of team entries.

12 male and five female teams from across KwaZulu-Natal made their way to Lambert Park to be part of the tournament.

The sweltering heat did not deter the teams’ determination and spirit.

“There was an excellent standard of volleyball played, which was very competitive in both the male and female categories,” commented UVA Chairman Kashen Naidoo.

Winners in the female category were Trob Volliers and the runners-up were Treasury. In the male category, the winners were Spikers and runners-up were Treasury.

UVA would like to thank their sponsor as well as Themba Shablalala from the Sports and Recreation Department.
