Friendly matches begin new season

Non-affiliated clubs are welcome to join

The long wait for the new season is finally over this weekend, with friendly matches to be played at both Agra Grounds and Settlers Park.

Clubs that are affiliated to the Northern District Cricket Union (NDCU), and other clubs that are interested in joining, are requested to meet officials at Settlers Park on Sunday, October 11, at 8.30am, where the draw, depending on the number of teams available, will take place.

The grounds are in a poor state due to ‘water-shedding’, but the enthusiastic cricketers will surely make amends by playing the game to their best ability. New clubs who have not yet joined the NDCU have the chance to come forward and have themselves registered at Settlers Park, where the necessary requirements for registration will be discussed.

Get out your cricket gear, dust off the cobwebs, be at Settlers Park and let the games begin.
