Bowls a sport for kings
Avid bowlers took part in the annual Kings Bowls Competition at Newcastle Bowling Club on Saturday.
Avid bowlers took part in the annual Kings Bowls Competition at Newcastle Bowling Club on Saturday.
The competition began in 2009, and evolved into an annual tournament, attracting bowlers from across Northern KwaZulu-Natal.
Saturday’s competition was no different, with teams from Vryheid, Dundee, Ladysmith and Ncandu making their way to play alongside Newcastillians.
A total of 36 teams took part in the event.
With contestants putting their skills to the test, aiming for the top spot, bowlers found themselves facing tough competition.
Securing victory was Trevor Smale’s team, followed by Monty Steele’s team in second place and Susan Hutchinson’s team in third place.
