Racing enthusiasts gathered at the Oval Track last Saturday evening to watch the final racing event of the year.

Ensuring spectators enjoyed their night, competitors went all out to leave a lasting impression.

In the Tin Tops division, Imraan Ameer clinched first place, followed by Boet Buys and Willie Myburgh in second and third places respectively.

Gideon Hand took first position in the Hot Rods category, with Hendrik Labuschagne in second place and Mynhardt Myburgh in third position.

The Rookies division’s win went to Tiaan Buys and he was followed by CJ Myburgh in second place.

Shaukat Khan came in first in the 1600 division, with Duhlaa Jamalodeen in second place and Johann de Jager in third postion.

Imraan Ameer won the 1660 category, with Duhlaa Jamalodeen securing second place and Shaukat Khan speeding into third place.

The victory in the Ladies division went to Cathleen de Jager, who was followed by Zaakira Khan in second place and Sameera Ameer in third place.

The two-litre division proved to be a tough race as contenders attempted to prove their worth on the track. The win went to Pieter Bester, second place went to Gideon Hand and Norman Forbes raced into third place,

As Saturday’s event was the final event of the year, a fun reverse race was held. In this rather humorous race, Boet Buys secured the winning spot and he was followed by Hendrik Labuschagne in second and Tiaan Buys in third place.

The Oval Track committee thanked all the spectators and sponsors who made the racing events throughout 2015 possible and is looking forward to kicking off the new year.
