The New Year got off to a rocking start in the local cricket league with more impressive displays by the teams.
Farmers vs Endumeni – 30 Overs
Farmers batted first and made 127 all out thanks to 27 from Timmy Mentz and 13 from Corne. Nathaniel was the star performer taking 4/15 while Baloo took 3/21. Nathaniel then proved he was just as good with the bat, scoring 32. Zeze, however, destroyed the bowling line-up, scoring 75 not out as Endumeni reached the total for the loss of one wicket only.
Pakistan Lions vs Molls – 30 Overs
Molls batted first in their clash with Pakistan Lions at Kallies and scored 128 all out.
Morne top scored with 33 and Daniel made 28 for Molls. Ali did damage with the ball taking 5/28 while Ashfaq took 3/14. Ashfaq then top scored with 32 and Kamran made 27 as Pakistan Lions picked up the win.
Cameron also took a fiver, taking 5/38 with Wilfred taking 2/22, but it was not enough to stop the lions roar.
Farmers vs Endumeni Development – T20
Match rained out. Both teams shared the points.
Pakistan Lions vs Tigers – T20
Pakistan Lions batted first and made 150/7 in their allotted overs. Adeel made 36 and Farouk made 32 for the Lions.
Joey took 2/23 and Amith P took 2/24 for Tigers.
In reply they were bowled out for 118. Vernon top scored with 26 and Oniel made 15.
Ali took 3/27 and Waqas took 2/24 as Pakistan Lions picked up the victory.
Spook and Diesel vs Tigers – 50 Overs
Tigers batted first and made 146 all out. Vernon top scored with 72 and Brandon chipped in with 10.
Yusheer took 3/21 and Udien took 2/51. In reply Spook and Diesel chased down the total with seven wickets in hand and with 26 overs to spare.
