The VME League log table sees Breakwaters in poll position on 22 points

The fourth round of the VME League, under the auspices of the Angling Professional League, was held on January 10 at Richgate Park. Breakwaters Angling Club emerged as victors with 107 points, followed by Challengers on 84 points and Stillwaters on 49 points.

Kaveer Singh of Breakwaters was in top form, receiving the ‘orange’ cap, an outright trophy and R200 as the top angler of the day. In addition, he retained the purple as the overall log leader in the APL. He has achieved this feat for the past two competitions, building a commanding lead and placing himself favourably for the title of ‘Angler of the Year’.

The top five anglers for Breakwaters/Stillwaters were: Kaveer Singh (25 points); Shane Mangaroo (17 points); Minesh Gopi (15 points); Barge Ramlal (nine points); and Chris Lello (eight points).

The VME League log table sees Breakwaters in poll position on 22 points, followed by Challengers on 18 points and Stillwaters on eight points. The last two rounds of league competitions proved to be fiercely contested, as the teams went all-out in a bid to claim the title of ‘league champions’.

The next fixture of the APL is the Transnat Knock-Out Competition Eliminator, which will be held on January 31 at Sandford. The top two teams will advance to the final round of the Knock-Out Competition.
