Time Trials bids farewell to Alex
Well done to all and best of wishes to Alex Willis-Smith as she heads off to Cape Town.
Although there was fierce competition, there was also plenty of fun at Time Trials.
2km Colts Event:
Two of the youngest members, Zanele and Bayanda, did well in the event by running in 10m39s and 11m5s respectively.
2km Ladies Event:
In this event, Jayrushka ran a time of 10m42s followed by Alex – 11m6s. Alex will sadly be leaving to work in Cape Town. Alex and Jayushka did well by constantly breaking their personal bests. Alex’s best time being 10m41s.
2km Men’s Event:
Rikesh romped home in a time of 8m28s followed by Ivan in 11m9s.
4km Ladies Event:
Nicky smashed the 4km ladies record, finishing in a time of 17m47s followed by another fast runner, Tobeka who completed it in 18m20s.
4km Mens Event:
Bongani took the honours of finishing first in a time of 23m3s followed by Lamula – 23m35s and Sakile Masondo – 28m47s.
8km Mens Event:
There was fierce competition among the runners in this category. Malibong Dlamini ran an incredible time of 26m42s followed closely by Bongani Sabelo – 28m38s, third was Thokozani Phungula – 28m50s, fourth was Lindani Sangweni – 32m32s followed by Petrus – 33m33s and ‘Mighty’ Joe – 37m22s.
