Bianka and Zander saddled up for KZN

Both will again be competing in the SA Championships to be held this December in Newcastle.

Two local children had the honour of the representing their province at the annual SA Gymkhana and Tent-pegging Championships held in Beaufort West in December.
Bianka Bright and Zander Steyn, who both ride for the Normandien Gymkhana Club, earned their Northern KZN colours in the sport in August last year and were chosen for the national championships.
Representing KZN in the under 14 team, individually out of 85 competitors, Zander and Bianka both finished in the top 10. Overall, the KZN team came second out of the all the provinces represented.
Bianka (12) attends Glencoe Primary while Zander (14) is at Sarel Cilliers High in Glencoe. Both will again be competing in the SA Championships to be held this December in Newcastle.
The parents thanked all who contributed in assisting the children to travel to the championships – these include Braytons, Newcastle Mills, Saverite Glencoe and Ace Hardware – without their assistance, Bianka’s and Zander’s dream would not have come true.
