Five-way tie kicks off new bowls league
Early days, but already looking interesting.
The Overdale Farming Bowls Business league got underway last Thursday evening and it was great to see 64 players on the greens plus the spectators that came along to support their respective teams. After the first week. five teams headed the leader board on 4 points, Moths 4+18, The Fockers 4+15, Up Town Girls 4+12, Flower Power 4+10 and Battlefields Country Lodge and S/R on 4+4. Early days, but already looking interesting. See you all on Thursday evening at 5.30pm. Bring your basket along. Fires will be ready after bowls.
Congratulations to Stephen Shawe and Colin Brodick (Newcastle) and Alice Howe and Sue Hutchinson (Newcastle) on winning the Northern Zone Mens and Ladies Pairs in Volksrust last weekend. Hard lines to our players and keep on practicing. They say practice makes perfect. The Dundee Bowls Club would like to wish all its members competing in the Northern Zone Mixed Pairs in Vryheid this weekend, the best of luck and good competitive bowling to all.
