Duo of Rajen and Roy win Skaap Dag golf competition

On Saturday, Estcourt Golf Club hosted their monthly Skaap Dag golf competition, an initiative by Arnold Boettiger where winners get mutton prizes.

Saturday’s competition was sponsored by Philip Boshoff and the winners were as follows:

In first place were Rajen Goodoon and Roy Ramkasoon on 55 points, second place were Deejay Ramdhav and Kammy Baboolal on 54 points, in third place were George van Niekerk and Paul Wagenaar and then in fourth place were Viren Omardath and Gordon Chotu.

Surprisingly not a single golfer made it onto the green for closest to the pin on hole number 12, so that prize went in to a lucky draw format which Garth Fairfield won. Then something different, the longest putt on green number four was won by Rajen Goodoon.

The Friday competition was won by Bonny Maseku, who’s made it two in a row now. Well done and we hope to see you taking part in our Saturday competitions.

A reminder to the top 16 players during Club Champs, your first round of match play has to be completed by June 19, straight gross format, winner to proceed.

The bottom name of each pairing contest has to organise the play off, which are as follows:

Bruce Marx vs Gordon Smith; Phiwe Mabaso vs Jerremy Brow ; Jackson Fick vs Ledley Hume; Luke Schiever vs Viren Omardath; Adrian Brown vs Tim Hume; Rajen Goodoon vs Arnold Fortman; Mohamed Ismail vs David Diedrick and George van Niekerk vs Wilfie Laatz.

The final winner will progress to Kloof Country Club in the Champion of Champions Game.
Estcourt Golf Club will be introducing a ‘Youth Monthly Mug’, for primary and high school learners, hopefully starting on July 2.
