DBC put the brakes on Courier cricket team

There was a big match feel last night as the Northern Natal Courier took on DBC in the Action Cricket Business League.
The Courier team went into the game confident of a loss but hoping for a much improved showing. They were not disappointed.

The DBC team went into the game after taking a healthy dose of Gummiberry juice.
Cameron Fogg had an extra high bounce, enabling him to pull of the most amazing catches, while Samantha Caldecott was an impenetrable force on the court, ensuring that the ball didn’t get past her to the boundary.
Her right hand, much like Diego Maradona, proved to be a Hand of God, as it got in the way of every ball destined for four and six.

The rest of the team, led by their captain, Philip Caldecott, were all over the court, taking unbelievable catches and getting to the ball at super speeds.

The Courier team on the other hand, didn’t fare as well. The ball seemed to target Rikesh, no matter where he fielded. It was like a rogue bludger targeting Harry Potter around the Quidditch field.
New recruit, Yudhveer, took a heavy blow to the chest, courtesy of a well hit shot. Yudhveer has been described as the Michael Jordan of the cricketing world, only because Michael Jordan doesn’t know how to play cricket.
Chasing down 149, the Courier team fell just 20 runs short. This despite having super sub, Logan Govender, fill in.
Despite the loss, it was great fun and a learning curve too.
None of the DBC players were tested for traces of Gummiberry juice after the game.
