VRYHEID Round Table hosted their Lightning Darts Evening last Friday night and, despite the icy Winter chill in the air, the atmosphere was quite electric.

Participants in the annual darts competition gathered at the Vryheid Round Table 129 clubhouse early in the evening to secure their spot and warm up their throwing arms for a chance to win the R1 000 jackpot that was up for grabs.

The evening began with a ‘Round Robin’ stage, with the top two teams going through to the final after some tight competition between contestants, all eager to take the top spot. Following some intense competition, it came down to a playoff for a place in the final, with two teams on eight points and one team on ten points.

After a ‘sudden death’ round between the two tied teams, it was time for the final round of competition, where a true game of 301 was contested between the remaining two teams. The added pressure of having to ‘start with a double and close with a double’ in the final round, proved to be a good challenge for both teams but, in the end, it was the team of Eugene Barnard and Kumarin Naicker who claimed the honours and walked away with the jackpot.

“Vryheid Round Table would like to thank all participants who took part and added to a good evening of fun and we hope to see you all at the next one,” stated Vryheid Round Table PRO, Neil Collier.
