The Northern Natal Women’s A hockey team is set to compete in the annual South African Country Districts tournament in Paarl, which begins on July 10.

Donations and sponsorships can help local hockey excel in the Western Cape.

The Northern Natal Women’s A hockey team is set to compete in the annual South African Country Districts tournament in Paarl, which begins on July 10.

However, reaching this goal requires some financial support.

To help defray expenses involved with travelling to and competing in the tournament, the team is hosting a golf day at the Newcastle Golf Club on June 17.

Sponsorship and assistance can be given in the following ways:

‘Buying’ a tee box or green for R500 each, hosting a watering hole, donating prizes or simply participating in the pairs better ball competition.

“This will be our fifth year competing at this tournament. Our team has improved from eighth position in 2013 to obtaining third, fourth and fifth position in 2014, 2015 and 2016 respectively. We are proud of our achievements and the team has put in hard work to compete at the tournament once again,” explained member, Wilma Phillips.

The competition tees off on June 17 between 8am and noon.

Entry fees of R150 per player apply – contact Wilma on 076 252 4949 or Chris on 073 011 3213 for more information.
