Indigenous games held in AbaQulusi
More than 550 people took part in the games and 121 participants were selected to represent ZDM at the provincial games that will be held at Uthukela District Municipality on 11-13 August.
SATURDAY, July 8 was a very eventful day for young people from all around Zululand District Municipality who took part in the indigenous games.
The event was held in Mondlo and all five municipalities under Zululand (Uphongolo, eDumbe, Ulundi, AbaQulusi and Nongoma) participated.
Games that were played included Jukskei, Induku, Mlabalaba, Inqathu, Incuva, Drie Stokkies, Kho-Kho, Dibeke and Magenda.

The Chairperson of the Zululand Indigenous Games Council, Mr Pat Sithole, would like to thank all the local municipalities and the Department of Sports and Recreation. A special thank you to Miss Thabethe, the district head of Sports and Recreation.
Miss Thabethe and Miss Ndlela encouraged players to continue participating in the games as keeping active is good for their health and wellbeing.
Mr Pat Sithole also thanked all local municipalities and extended a special thanks to AbaQulusi Municipality’s employees, Mr Lindani Ngcobo, Mr BW Shangase, Mr Mzwakhe Mdlalose and Mr Mphondi Ntuli, for assisting in terms of water and electricity.
