Boettiger duo wins Skaapdag

36 golfers took to the field and in the end it was the husband and wife team, Arnold and Gail Boettiger, who walked away with the honours

On Saturday, Estcourt Golf Club hosted the monthly Skaapdag, this time sponsored by Bruce Le Roux. 36 golfers took to the field and in the end it was the husband and wife team, Arnold and Gail Boettiger, who walked away with the honours.

Second spot went to another family duo, Rajen Goodoon and Roy Ramkasoon. In third place were Gordon Smith and Lionel Laatz.

Closest to the pin was won by our visitor Dhenel Budhu and we had three golfers who managed birdies on the short holes: P Geraty, B Le Roux and G Smith.

A huge thank you to Bruce Le Roux for sponsoring this day and ensuring that we hosted yet another successful Skaapdag.

Gordon Smith, Fred Vickers, Lionel Laatz and Paddy Geraty enjoyed a lovely day on the greens this past Saturday

On Wednesday, 13 golfers played in our competition, which was won by David Diedrick and Jeremy Brown.

It also included the semi-final matches of the Champ of Champs. David Diedrick and Luke Schiever both won their matchplays and we are looking forward to the final between these two.

A reminder to all golfers that this coming Saturday is our monthly mug and on August 9, we are hosting a Women’s Day celebration competition. The format will be pairs with alternate shot, with the regular golfer always first off the tee-box.

This day is all about the women in our lives and we would love it if our regular golfers could bring along their wives and daughters to take part in this fun and relatively easier format on the day.
