Tiekie’s pigeons take first and second positions from Bethal

Next week, the open birds are racing from Marble Hall and Petrusburg

On Saturday, the yearling pigeons raced from Bethal (214km) and Winburg (272km).

Tiekie Crouse clocked two pigeons at 10:38, taking first and second. From Winburg, Pat Emslie, racing under Bloodstock Lofts, clocked the winning pigeon at 11:37, beating Lewis Hay by five seconds. The winner from Senekal was Mark Clayton. Tiekie’s winning pigeon flew an average speed of 80km/h and Pat’s winning pigeon’s average speed was 86km/h.

The full results were as follows:

Bethal: Tiekie Crouse 1,2,10,11,22,23,29; Lewis Hay 3,13,14,15,16,20,21; Eric Holder 4,5,30; Mark Clayton 6,7,9,26,27; Paul Manuel 8,24; Labusch Lofts (Lappies) 12,17,18,19.

Winburg: Bloodstock Lofts (Pat Emslie) 1,5,15,21,22,26,28,29; Lewis Hay 2,8,9,18,19,20,27; Tiekie Crouse 3,13; Labusch Lofts (Lappies) 4,7; Jimmy Hanlon 6,23,25,30; Mark Clayton 10,11,12,16; Eric Holder 14.

Next week, the open birds are racing from Marble Hall (383km) and Petrusburg (about 500km).
