JKA seniors get ready for regionals
This promises to be an action-packed competition
The Northern Kwa-Zulu Natal JKA region held another senior training session on Saturday, September 2, at the Arbor Park Primary School in Newcastle.
The training session was in preparation for the NKZN JKA Karate Regionals which will be held on Saturday, September 9.
The two hour training session, consisting of kata and kumite, was based on the criteria and rules used in the Provincial and National JKA championships.
This was followed-up by a table official and judges and referees course to ensure that the competition runs smoothly and that the competitors are given fair, competent and professional decisions during the tournament.
Dundee, Hluhluwe, Ladysmith, Newcastle Paulpietersburg, Piet Retief, Pongola, Volksrust and Vryheid make up the nine JKA dojo’s attending the NKZN JKA Regionals with a total of 200 contestants and 400 entries.
This promises to be an action-packed competition and JKA thanks all the senior karate-ka and management of NKZN JKA karate for giving up their time and for all the hard work they have put in behind the scenes to make this event successful.
