Under 15 bowlers have a dream National Championship finish

Members of KwaZulu-Natal Country Bowls Clubs, representing u/15 and u/20 bowlers, along with the coaches, left for Bloemfontein on Easter Monday to take part in the Bowls South Africa National Championships.
It was a hard fought week for the juniors but the experience each player gained was priceless. The u/20’s had a really tough tournament with the u/20 A side ending fourth in their section and the u/20 B side ending up seventh in their section.
The u/15’s, however, had a tournament they could only have dreamt of – ending up first in their section and booking themselves a place in the semi-final. Unfortunately, they lost to Western Province B in the semi-final but ended up with the bronze medal overall for the tournament in the u/15 section, the first time that the KZNCB u/15 side has ended with a sport on the podium.
A brilliant achievement and Dundee can only wish these youngsters well for the future, practice hard but most of all enjoy your bowls. To the coaches that have worked with the juniors congratulations on a wonderful achievement. A special thank you must also go to the many “adoptees” that made it financially possible for these youngsters to take part in this prestigious tournament.

The coaches and players representing the Dundee Bowling Club u /15 and u/20 bowlers left for Bloemfontein on Easter Monday to take part in the Bowls South Africa National Championships.

Members of the KZNCB (KZN Country Bowls) under 15 players who earned bronze medals at the SA National Bowlinsg Championships: Aspen Shaw from Newcastle, Nkhanyiso Mbambo from Estcourt, coach Hannelie Arndt, Aiden Dedekind from Newcastle and Michaela Smith from Empangeni.

FedAuto Business League
The FedAuto Bowls Business League was put on hold until after the school holidays due to many teams being away, however, play will resume this coming Thursday. The club hopes for great weather to get this league underway once more. A reminder of the leaderboard after rounds eight and nine:
Langfontein 14 +37; Merry Men 14 +17; Sarel Cilliers 12 +19 and No Name Brand 12 +14.
Braai fires will be lit so bring your family, friends, and basket and enjoy this Thursday evening with us.
The club will be hosting the KZNCB Senior Fours this coming weekend. A number of seniors from all over the district will be taking part. Please come down to the club to support these players.
“Diesel and Dust Evening”
On Friday, April 20, the Dundee Bowling Club and Dr Cornie Malan will be hosting a “Diesel and Dust Evening” at the club. The cost is only R70 per person which includes a hamburger and bar snacks. The time is 5.30pm for 6pm; kindly RSVP by April 12 for catering purposes. So…if you’re a petrol head or just have a keen interest in cars, come down to the club and enjoy this unique evening with us.
