SPORT: Local swimmers tread waters of success
The club recently took stock of the season so far, and congratulated its members on their successes and achievements in recent months.
Members of the Newcastle Swimming Club are doing swimmingly.
The club recently took stock of the season so far, and congratulated its members on their successes and achievements in recent months.

Among these swimmers is Abigail Peters.
She qualified for and competed at the South African National Open Water Championships in Jeffrey’s Bay, in both the three and five kilometre events.
Another swimming making waves is Paula van Zyl.
She competed at an international gala in Kenya recently, and was well on her way towards competing at the South African Nationals event.
“We wish her all the best,” said coach, Tharina Peters.
The following Newcastle Swimming Club members achieved Level Two grading and will compete in Sasolburg soon:
Kelsey Kemp, Handre du Preez, Shravan Goli and Jared Scheepers.
Level Three swimmers are as follows:
Abigail Peters, Paula van Zyl and Melisca Everson.
“Newcastle Swimming Club is extremely proud of its swimmers and their achievements. We know the work and dedication which went into these successes.”
The club also extended its thanks to its uniform sponsor, for ensuring Newcastle Swimming Club members looked as good as they swam.
