Security company uses soccer to promote community spirit in Vryheid

After the teams had battled it out on the field, the Isidingo Security Club made it out tops, but the jerseys were handed over to the runner-up team Vumbuka FC for playing a very good game.

LOCAL security company, Isidingo Security, held a soccer tournament at the Esilweni area as a means to encourage young people to continue taking part in the sport.

“The initial idea was to visit the area and sponsor a jersey for one of the teams there but, after many discussions, we decided to make the teams compete for the jerseys,” said Mr Mduduzi Limako, who manages the local Isidingo branch.

After the teams had battled it out on the field, the Isidingo Security Club made it out tops, but the jerseys were handed over to the runner-up team Vumbuka FC for playing a very good game. The security company also sponsored a Jojo tank to the Esilweni community.

Esilweni community members were highly grateful for the Jojo tank.

The area’s ward councillor, Phaphama Mbatha, who was among the honoured guests for the day, expressed his deepest gratitude to Isidingo Security for what they did for his community. He also thanked the Induna’s of the area, Bab’ Khumalo and Mam’ Ndima, for being present.

Mr Limako extended a word of gratitude to Transnet’s Mr Mahlasela Setutla, for being a part of the tournament, the teams that took part, as well as community members who went out to show their support.
