Friday’s golf was a family affair

Golfers are to please note that the Monthly Mug Medal competition for May will be played this coming Saturday.

It would seem pretty clear that many of the Dundee golfers travelled out of town for the long weekend as our normal Saturday Club Competition was cancelled due to a lack of participation.
With the past Friday being a public holiday, the Friday Chicken Run was played on Thursday afternoon which attracted ten players and saw Dave Donaldson winning with 22 points followed by Lorien De Wit on 19 points.
The Better Ball scramble drive competition held on Friday attracted a field of twenty-two players and it was the brother and sister pairing of Wessel Odendaal and Veronica Donaldson who won the day with 48 points. Second place also went to a family pairing of father and son, Henk and Pierre Booysen with 47 points.
There were a host of players who recorded a 2 Club in the competition, and they were: M Bradbury on the 4th, K Roets, D Donaldson, V Donaldson and A Mbatha all on the 16th hole, while Cyril Mkhwanazi recorded a 2 Club on both the 12th and 16th holes.
Golfers are to please note that the Monthly Mug Medal competition for May will be played this coming Saturday, May 5, as the sponsored day scheduled for Saturday has been moved to later in the year.
