Nan crowned KZNCB Masters Ladies Champion 2018

Dundee Bowling Club’s Golden Girl keeps on raking in the trophies! Nan Roos competed in the District Masters in Newcastle this past weekend and managed to win the ladies section in fine style. Nan played three games on Saturday, winning each game by considerable margins. Another two games were played on Sunday; Nan played against Magriet from Ladysmith beating her 21-18 and then against Alice Howe from Newcastle beating her 21-11 and in so doing booked herself a place in the final. Nan’s opponent for the final was Essel Schoeman from Richards Bay whom Nan ousted 21-10 and therefore found herself lifting the trophy and earned the title of KZNCB Masters Ladies Champion 2018. Congratulations Nan, the Club is extremely proud of you.
Nan will also be competing in the Bowls South Africa Nationals to be held in Ekurhuleni, Johannesburg from May 12-20. This will be the 18th year that Nan will be competing in the Nationals. The Club wishes Nan travelling mercies and good bowling…keep flying Dundee’s flag high!
Round Table Winter Knights
It was full steam ahead this past Thursday evening as the Round Table Winter Knights Bowls Business League got underway. Playing conditions were quite chilly, however, that didn’t dampen the spirits of the 18 teams who took to the greens to support the Round Table’s wonderful initiative. Don’t forget to bring along a blanket, non-perishable food items or pet food which the Round Table will distribute to their five beneficiaries. Worried about supper? No need, the Round Table ladies will be selling food on the night so bring along your friends and family and be a part of this great initiative.
