It’s still not that cold, so come out and play some bowls

The Wednesday League again only had a few people attend, but these few were warmed up by Bob’s delicious soup.

Only a couple more weeks and then this league will come to an end.

It’s still open to all who can brave the chill. It is still not that cold, so come out and play!

Last weekend saw Moths from far and near, bowlers from different clubs and non-bowlers also from everywhere descend on Klipbank to take part in the Tiny’s Trips Tournament.

What a fantastic time was had by all!

It consisted of three games of 15 ends on Saturday and one game of 18 ends on Sunday. Supper was supplied on Friday and Saturday evenings at the Moth Club, and the rest of the meals were served at Klipbank.

Really well done to Lindy van der Merwe and her small team in keeping these hungry people fed so well.

Oscar the barman at Klipbank was kept very busy, as it seems playing bowls is very thirsty work, but as always, all thirsts were quenched.

The eventual winners of this tournament were a team consisting of three age groups – we had Rodney Perrin of the senior age group, then Shenaaz Singh of the older generation and finally David Nel of the young generation.

These three came out all guns blazing and decided to demolish all their opposition.

Really well done and congratulations!

A huge thank you to the Moths for putting on a very well run tournament, and also to everybody who came out and had a very enjoyable weekend.

Last but not least, thanks to all the people in the background who worked tirelessly to keep everything on track.
