ArcelorMittal host fantastic family fishing day competition

There were lots of prizes for the top fishermen in the three categories, which were the men, women and children, as well as a few lucky draws.

The zero degree temperature did not deter ArcelorMittal employees and their families, as they headed out with their secret bait in hand to the Ntshingwayo (Chelmsford) Dam on Saturday, for ArcelorMittal’s Fantastic Family Fishing Day.

Manager of the Socio- Economic Development, Transformation and Excellence Centre, Joe Nowbath said the day was greeted with much enthusiasm and excitement.

“While the fish may have been a bit reclusive, the spirit of the people was not, with many praising the effort made by AMSA on hosting this day, as a means of boosting employee morale.”

There were lots of prizes for the top fishermen in the three categories, which were the men, women and children, as well as a few lucky draws.

The winners were as follows:

Men:

Joshua van Niekerk – 1.8kg carp.

Women:

Ashleigh McDonald – 1.08kg carp.

Children:

Talia Snyman – 1.3kg carp.

Nowbath congratulated all the winners of the day.
