The games of the Uthukela Regional SAB playoffs were played on the Saturday and Sunday at two different venues, which were at Lambert Park and the Wembezi Stadium. The total number of games per team to be played was four.

The first team that Wembezi Royal Tigers was up against was Germany FC from Bergville Ukhahlamba LFA. This was the first three points that Wembezi Royal Tigers took home, with a final score of 5-0 at Lambert Park.

This was the first of many more wins for the Tigers. Their second game was at the Wembezi Stadium where they were up against Zamanani FC, a team from Ladysmith under the Alfred Duma LFA. Again the Royal Tigers did not disappoint, as they managed to win once again 5-0, taking home a total of six points on the first day of the playoffs. Both these games were won with a score of five goals by the Tigers, giving them their nickname ‘Abafana Bempama’.

The second day of the playoffs kicked off on Sunday and with the win from the previous day, the Royal Tigers had a status to maintain. It was clear that these games would not be an easy task for the newly named ‘Abafana Bempama’ by its fans. The third game of the tournament was at Lambert Park where they played the Real Madrid FC, which is also a team from Alfred Duma LFA in Ladysmith.

This was a challenging 90 minutes for the Tigers but in the end, the Wembezi Royal Tigers came out victorious with a score of 4-0.

It was a great win for the boys, scoring the Royal Tigers a total of nine points. Later that day, the Royal Tigers played their last game of the SAB playoffs against the Loskop Sesikhona FC at the Wembezi Stadium.

The boys fought hard until the end of the game, however the final score was 1-1. This was the first draw for the team. At the end of the playoffs, the Royal Tigers had a total of ten points with an impressive 15 goals in four games. Well done to the boys, as they have managed to qualify to play in the provisional playoffs in Vryheid.

The boys will then soldier on to the provisional playoffs, representing the Uthukela region on June 15 and 16 in Vryheid. On behalf of the Wembezi Royal Tigers, the management would like to thank all the supporters who were with them throughout the playoffs.
