Hundreds walk and run for Hospice
The aim of the race was to raise funds for Hospice

Hundreds of runners and walkers took on the De Franca’s Spar 5km run / walk on Saturday afternoon (June 9).
The event kicked off promptly at 2pm from the new Spar parking area in Francis Road, with people of all ages getting some exercise for Hospice.
The aim of the race was to raise funds for Hospice, with all proceeds going to the care-based organisation.
A vibrant atmosphere prevailed early on in the day, as music blared out while the runners and walkers gathered around and got ready to tackle the route.
The children seemed to be the eager ones, setting off at a brisk pace and leaving their parents “in the dust”.

Water tables were strategically placed throughout the 5km route, which snaked its way through town, finishing back at the parking lot.
The water tables were a hive of activity as the volunteers did their best to keep everyone hydrated during the race.
The afternoon run / walk was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended, with everyone happy to be getting fit and healthy while supporting Hospice at the same time.
