Ward 19 soccer clubs go head-to-head in Chievely
The team walked away with R4 000 and soccer jersey
Sport development is forging ahead in Ward 19. A soccer tournament that began on May 20 wrapped up during the weekend, bringing with it triumph and sportsmanship.

The soccer tournament was organised by Ward Councillor Nyanda Mchunu who is determined to make Ward 19 the leader in sport. The tournament kicked off with 18 teams from the Ward participating in games in Chievely.
The teams thereafter played the second round of matches in Cornfields. The finals and semi-finals were played in Thembalihle during the weekend, amid determination and fierce competition.
In the end, Kiss Baby FC from Thembalihle was crowned victors. The team walked away with R4 000 and soccer jerseys.
In second place was Mbhashi FC from Cornfields, the team received R2 000 and in third place was Man City FC from Thembalihle that won R1 000 for the team. Cllr Mchunu says that the tournament was successful and thanks all who were involved.
