Old hand Jo claims golf monthly mug

It was great to see almost 40 golfers once again participating in the Saturday competition.

Thirty-six golfers competed in Saturday’s Monthly Mug Medal competition for June at the Dundee Golf Club and it was great to see almost 40 golfers once again participating in the Saturday competition.
The honours for the day went to greenkeeper Jo Khumalo, who shot a one-over par 72 to not only win the A division Mug by one shot over Henk Booysen, but also picked up the prize for the Best Gross score of the day.
The Men’s B division saw a play-off between Mandla Mthethwa and John Zulu after they both finished with a nett 68, and it was Mandla who won on the extra hole to claim the B division Mug.
The ladies B division Mug was won by Lorien De Wit with a net 73, and Hlengiwe Hlongwane picked up the Ladies C division Mug with a net 70.
Mandla Mthethwa also earned himself a little extra cash by winning the Jackpot, while there were a number of 2 Clubs recorded on the day; A Abdulla and D Bradbury on No. 4, W Ackerman on No. 8, S Kunene on No. 12, K Roets on the 16th and S Von Molendorff on both the 4th and 8th holes. This week’s fixtures: Friday 10 Holes Chicken Run from 1pm; Saturday’s Club Competition will be an I.P.S. format and golfers are to please diarise the following Saturday, June 30, for Stan’s 46th Year Service to the Club golf day. This will be an I.P.S. competition.
