Bowlers choose their leaders for the year
Koen Pretorius was re-elected as club President after a good year in office, and the new committee for the forthcoming bowling year is:

Newcastle Bowling Club hosted its Annual General Meeting last weekend, with a number of members in attendance.
Koen Pretorius was re-elected as club President after a good year in office, and the new committee for the forthcoming bowling year is:
Vice President/ Men’s Competition Secretary – Lukas Niemand
Secretary – Edith Pretorius
Treasurer – Denise Phillips
Ladies’ Competition Secretary – Vicky van der Merwe
General committee members include Graham Robinson, Mart Browning, Mike Hartman, Sid Price, Trevor Moore, Sue Hutchinson, Leonie Cilliers, Colin Brodrick, Dorothy Crosbie and Trevor Douthwaite.

In closing the meeting, Koen thanked all the sponsors and members for their support during the year and stated he was looking forward to another year of good fellowship and teamwork, with all club members playing their part in ensuring Newcastle Bowling Club retained its status as one of the top clubs in the KwaZulu-Natal Country Bowls (KZNCB) district.
A number of Newcastle bowlers will participate in the first round of the KZNCB District Trials this weekend at the Vryheid Bowling Club, and those players concerned are wished good bowling.
