Bowling ladies served up a spirited Women’s Day
A big thank you to all those involved in making the day such a great success, every lady went away feeling extra special.
This past Thursday, the bowls club hosted 24 lovely ladies, who came down to the club and braved the horrendous weather conditions to celebrate Women’s Day. As the ladies arrived, they each received a goodie bag beautifully made by Sheryl, as well as a complimentary sherry to warm them up before taking to the greens in icy and wet conditions.
Sheryl welcomed the ladies before play started and a moments silence was also had to remember those women around the world who are living in oppression. Due to the poor weather conditions, only ten ends were played. The men of the club waited on the ladies hand and foot bringing round refreshments as and when needed. After play, the ladies moved back into the warmth of the clubhouse where Sylvia had put on the most amazing spread of baked goodies and Stuart Cumming gave a very interesting demonstration on gin tasting. After that, the men served a delicious chicken salad for lunch, much to the delight of the ladies. It was a fantastic day and the Club hopes to make this an annual event. A big thank you to all those involved in making the day such a great success, every lady went away feeling extra special.
