Archers find the bull’s-eye at Ingogo competition
The course featured 22 three-dimensional 'butts', set up in a mock hunting scenario.
Despite windy conditions, local archers kept their aim true.
On August 11 and 12, the South African National Archery Association (SANAA) held a competition at Silesia Farm in the Ingogo area, in conjunction with the Newcastle Bowhunting and Archery Club.
The competition was made up of three shooting categories.

Competitors in the Black Peg division shot at a maximum distance of 20 yards (approximately 18 metres), while those in the Blue Peg faced distances of up to 40 yards (approximately 36 metres).
The toughest competition was in the Red Peg division (60 yards or 54 metres).
According to SANAA representatives, the course featured 22 three-dimensional ‘butts’ set up in a mock hunting scenario, with competitors shooting from trees and hides.
“The first day was perfect for a competition, and although the second day was windy, it still turned out to be a huge success.”

Congratulations to the top competitors:
Red Peg: Pieter Rogers was the highest scorer with 461 points over the two-day competition, followed by Dominique Wenning (375 points, one day) and Innes Stander (317 points, one day).
Blue Peg: Michaella Venter took top honours in this division with 426 points over two days, while Eben Lello scored 339 points to claim second place.
Black Peg: Werner Erasmus scored 200 points in one day, and Henko Bruin scored 599 points over two days.
